• Question: How do opticians put special lenses into glasses so that you can see with them on?

      Well, the opticians do tests on your eyes first to figure out exactly what sort of lenses you need to let you see as clearly as possible. They send the results of these tests away and they get your perfect lenses sent back to them. After that it is just a case of attaching the lenses to the frames of the spectacles, usually either by glue of some sort or by clamping two pieces of the frame around the glass part using little screws.

      The opticians put lenses in your glasses that alter the direction of light rays to focus light properly onto the retina.

      First they do an eye test to determine what type of glasses you need. Then depending if you are near or far sighted they select the right lens.
