Do you mean the stuff we cook with like pots and pans or the stuff we have in food?

When making cookery equipment we tend to use material that don’t react with things so you don’t get any bad stuff in your food. We use stuff like metals and wood which won’t release anything.
We also use stuff like teflon (or PTFE) which makes the “non-stick” bit of frying pans.

Hope this answered your question, let me know if it didn’t!

        Thanks!

Normally you use metals for cooking equipment as these will not melt when the heat is applied to them. We also use things like ceramic pots that can go into the oven.

Other materials such as plastic would melt at high temperatures and things like cardboard would go on fire!
