Ore is made of different metals. Normally metal from ore is extracted using electrolysis or reduction using carbon/carbon monoxide.

Electrolysis uses electricity to drive an chemical reaction the does not happen naturally. Depending of the volts of the current the separation of different metals from naturally occurring sources such as ores can be done.
