Humans appeared on earth after a LONG time of evolution, this is why sometimes you might hear that we are closely related to apes and other animals like them. This is a complicated subject, but basically after a very long time animals change and adapt to the area they live, after lots of changes they may become a different animal entirely! Believe it or not, it is thought that we humans are one of those new species that started to exist around 10 million years ago!

Many religions believe a higher divine being, “God” or consciousness started life on earth. This could be translated that they directly placed humans on earth, or started the life process.
        Alternatively:
We are made up of atoms, which are the building blocks of the universe – similar atoms are found on distant planets. I can be imagined, that a few billion years after most the earth had formed and cooled down, the conditions on the planet allowed life to form, a few atoms at a time. This could be something incredibly small (smaller than what can be seen with a microscope), and over millions of years, life change or evolved into small bacteria, then fish, then animals then us…
It is quite a complicated and controversial subject, but a very interesting question.

This is a hard question to answer and scientists are still trying to find out how the universe began.

Humans have only been on Earth for about 200 thousands years compared to the age of the Earth (4.5 billion years). Before humans there was other species which where very closely related to us. We evolved fromthem to adjust to changes in weather and living conditions

That is a very hard question to answer, but I’ll give it a go!

There are so many different ideas about how life started. Personally I believe in evolution but that still doesn’t answer the question: how did life begin?

There are a group of molecules known for creating life called “amino acids”. Life begun when something caused these molecules to interact when the earth was very young. Scientists say this could be radiation or lighting which gave amino acids enough of a kick to start forming life.

But where are the amino acids from? Some say that they were formed on earth from smaller molecules and some others say they could have arrived on an asteroid from outer space. I like the idea that they came from space, it’s really cool to think that the early molecules that make up us could have come from space!

Again this is just what I think, lots of people think lots of different things.
