All solid material are made up of ordered area or unordered areas. If there are more ordered areas then the material is more brittle and hard. If there are more unordered areas it can be more flexible and less hard.

It’s all about how the atoms join together. If they are more ordered the material will be harder. If they join randomly the material will probably be more flexible.

        Thanks!

This depends on what the material is made of. Like James said the more ordered a material is the harder it is to bend.

All materials are made of different chemicals therefore they have different properties.
